SHELTER WIKI

Ontology-based semantic wiki page for building a common understanding around climate change adaptation, disaster risk management and cultural heritage management in the framework of the H2020 project SHELTER “Sustainable Historic Environments holistic reconstruction through Technological Enhancement and community-based Resilience”. In the Wiki page each term is correlated with its own definition, several icons are used to facilitate the visualization and recognition of each term, thus overcoming language barriers, and tags are used to better filter the vocabulary contents. All the definitions have been created on the basis of consolidated references from the available literature and for each term the related definition is shown in the languages of the project case studies (Italian, Spanish and Galician), and displayed one after the other on the same page to allow the user to get familiar with the concepts also in different languages. Thanks to the collaborative wiki platform, the Shelter Wiki has the potential to link together experts, institutions and local communities. By using the SHELTER Wiki, the five SHELTER Open Labs together with the SHELTER team will be enabled to a common understanding leading to facilitation of activities in the project. The sustainability of the Shelter Wiki itself depends on its ability to create benefit for its users, but also on its ability to incorporate new knowledge.
