The SME E-COMPASS data mining services comprise five integrated on-line services provided through the E-COMPASS cockpit (ECC). The services within the E-COMPASS cockpit are described in short in the following, the details will be provided in the detail page for each function. An overview of the system’s start page and the links to all functions is shown in the following Figure.
The system offers the following functions:
- Price Monitor: Collects the prices of selected products directly from the own e-shop and the e-shops of defined competitors and compares the prices. Thus, the function supports the users in defining adequate prices for their products and lets them know and identify novel and critical price trends in time.
- Competitor Profiler: Analyses the pricing behaviour of defined competitors based on the results of the prices collected by the Price Monitor. The function provides deeper knowledge about the competitors and their behaviour, thus the users can e.g. adapt their own pricing behaviour to the behaviour of the most successful competitor.
- Visitor Profiler: Analyses the visitors of the own e-shop and categorises them into pre-defined types (loyal, need-based, wandering, misplaced). The function offers a deeper knowledge about the own visitors and provides statistical information about the visitor groups visiting the own e-shop. That knowledge is important for marketing measures as well as the structure of the own e-shop or the placement of the products and important information within the e-shop website.
- Product Profiler: Provides valuable information about the product of the own e-shop as the conversion rate of the product in relation to its visits within a certain time space. The results of the analysis are visualised for the users, thus the users can easy detect their best sellers as well as their shelf warmers.
- Sales Optimiser: Informs the e-shop owner about significant changes of the e-shop’s conversion rate and the competitors’ prices. Additionally, it provides the possibility to automatically view vouchers within the e-shop to possible customers based on pre-defined rules concerning the customer’s behaviour. The sales optimiser informs the e-shop owners about critical situations and provides an automated interaction with the visitors which are possible customers in order to optimise the sales figures of the e-shop.
Additionally, the E-COMPASS Cockpit includes a dashboard, an account manager and an on-line help function. The dashboard offers a fast overview of the most important reports provided through the services.
- Dashboard: The dashboard views the most important information of all different functions on the start page of the on-line service in order to have a quick view on the most critical figures. The dashboard needs to be configured by the users.
- Account Manager: In the account manager the users can administer (add, change and delete) their account data as (1) the name of their e-shop, (2) the URL of their e-shop, (3) the contact data of a contact person as well as (4) the tracking ID of their Google Analytics account and (5) the PIWIK URL.
- On-line Help: The on-line help provides some additional information about the system and its functions in order to clarify frequently asked questions (FAQs) concerning the system.
