Sales Optimiser
The Sales Optimiser provides ways to be notified instantly about changes in a shop’s key performance indicators and competitor price variations. This allows an e-shop owner to quickly take action and adapt to new market situations and by that optimise and increase its sales. Advanced features can be used to show incentives on the shop pages themselves for individual visitors – depending on their behaviour on the site.
To configure the sales optimiser to take automatic actions like sending notifications, configurable rules can be created in the cockpit.
A registered E-COMPASS cockpit user can use the sales optimiser features by navigating (clicking) on the “Sales Optimiser” link on the top navigation bar.

Overview
The Sales Optimiser page is structured into three sections:
- A list of created rules with details
- A log E-Mail notifications sent by notification rules
- A log of previously displayed dynamic vouchers (by the voucher rule)
List of Created Rules
The figure shows the list of all the created rules for this user. For every rule, there is the following detail information available:
- The “ID” of the rule to uniquely identify each rule
- The “Rule Type”, as there can be different types of rules
- The “Status” (active/inactive) – indicating whether the rule will be applied or is in suspended state
- The “Details” column shows the parameters, conditions and corresponding action of a specific rule so you can quickly see what the rule does
- The “Result” column can be used to report information back for the operation of some rules.
- The “Actions” column contains three different Icons, which allow the user to delete, edit and change the status (active/inactive) of rules
List of E-Mail Logs
To be able to see and track the history of past email notifications you can find a searchable list, detailing the Rule Type, the content, date and target address of the sent notification below the list of created rules.
List of Voucher Logs
Similar to the Email Logs, you can find a list that shows when a rule to display dynamic vouchers on the shop site has been applied with corresponding information like the shop url, the voucher code, after how many visitor actions the voucher was shown and a finally, a timestamp.
Creating Rules and Actions
Several rules and actions can be created through the Cockpit. To create a rule, the user can click on the dropdown menu with the title “Add new Rule…”. The Cockpit will then display a list of all available rules. Currently the system allows creating the following rules:
- Conversion Rate Rule
- Price Rule
- Voucher Rule
Conversion Rate Rule
The conversion rate rule is an implemented example of how to use automatic notifications to always be up to date with the key performance indicators of an e-shop. The user can define a threshold value and if the value is exceeded or falls below, a notification mail is sent to a specified address. The figure shows how to create and configure a conversion rate rule.
Price Rule
The Price Rule can be used to track and be up to date on the prices of competitor’s products by automatic comparisons to the products in your own shop. To configure the conditions for the rule, we can specify:
- Which competitor shop to compare to
- The product to compare with
- The threshold operator (> / <)
- The price threshold value
- The currency of the prices
Finally we can configure the action to be taken where we can enter the email address to where the notification will be sent to.
Voucher Rule
The Voucher Rule can be used to display a specific voucher, coupon or gift certificate to an individual visitor of the shop site under previously specified conditions. The menu to configure this rule looks as follows:
The configurable parameters are:
- The number of actions (clicks) of a visitor on the shop site to trigger an action
- The link URL to which the uploaded voucher image will lead the visitor to after clicking on it
- The voucher image itself, which can be uploaded by the shop owner
If a voucher rule is properly configures, the E-Compass system will track the visitors actions and check whether he has put items in the shopping cart. If the number of actions exceeds the threshold value and there are still no items in the shopping cart, the voucher image will be displayed for this visitor.
