Executive Summary
The SME E-COMPASS data mining services assist e-shop owners in collecting and analysing business data which is important to optimise their businesses. The SME E-COMPASS data mining services comprise five distributed on-line services for collecting, consolidating and analysing the data of the e-shop owners and their competitors as well as a service for running actions based on the results of the data analysis. The services are integrated through their application programming interfaces (APIs) and can be configured and controlled by the administration sections implemented in the on-line service module E-COMPASS Cockpit (ECC). The ECC provides the graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and the administration and configuration forms for all other service modules. The present document is a technical guide to administration of the SME E-COMPASS data mining services.
Purpose of this wiki
The purpose of this document is to provide the future operators of the data mining services for small and medium enterprises which had been developed within the European project “SME E-COMPASS” with all necessary information for rolling out and running these services productively.
This document will also provide information on the known limitations of the ECDMS implementation during the final stage of the SME E-COMPASS project.
The document will give a short overview over the different roles involved in the operation and sketch the outline of the operation concept before giving an overview of the different services and describing the modules in more detail: the physical hardware and virtualization, the service environment and configuration as well as the information necessary for operating and maintaining the services. It also sketches the current limitations of the services and provides contact information on the original developers of the services.
