CIPRNet project

The CIPRNet project [1] uses the following definition:

Dependency is the relationship between two (critical infrastructure) products or services in which one product or service is required for the generation of the other product or service.

Australia

New South Wales
Dependency: When a critical infrastructure relies on another critical infrastructure, good or service for continued service provision. [2]


Brazil

(Inter)dependência: relação de dependência ou interferência de uma infraestrutura crítica em outra, ou de uma área prioritária de Infraestruturas Críticas em outra. [3]

(Inter)dependence: dependency relationship or interference of a critical infrastructure with another, or of a Critical Infrastructure priority area with another.



Germany

IT dependency is defined as the situation where "a process depends on IT if the successful implementation of the process depends on the proper functioning of IT". [4]



Ireland

Dependency can be defined as a singularly dependent relationship while Interdependency can be defined as a mutually dependent relationship. [5]

Dependency and Interdependency can be defined as relationships which consider the cascading effect within sector/sub-sectors and/or across sectors/sub-sectors

Italy

An external dependency exists when an external entity has access to, control of, ownership in, possession of, responsibility for, or defined obligations related to one or more assets or services of the organization. [9]
