Sven Lauth is a Researcher in the Group Power Electronics and Grid Integration at Fraunhofer IWES. He studied Mechatronics and Information Technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), focusing on power electronics and renewable energy. In 2025, he joined Fraunhofer IWES, where he is responsible for electrical testbench integration and measurements. Additionally, he supports measurement campaigns for grid compliance testing and is involved in establishing and commissioning new test infrastructure.
Fraunhofer IWES is testing a grid-forming multi-MW battery storage system in accordance with VDE FNN Guideline 2.1 for the first time, paving the way for providing inertia in the power grid of the future.
