European Definitions
ENTSO-E
The necessary data about the connectivity of the different Transmission System or Distribution Network elements in a substation. It includes the electrical configuration and the position of circuit breakers and isolators. [1]
European Project Definitions
CIPRNet project
The CIPRNet project [2] uses the following definition:
A topology is given by connections between components of a Critical Infrastructure model.
DIESIS project
The DIESIS project [3] gives the following definition:
National Definitions
Egypt
Network topology: The specific physical, i.e., real, or logical, i.e., virtual, arrangement of the elements of a network. [4]
Note: Two networks have the same topology if the connection configuration is the same, although the networks may differ in physical interconnections, distances between nodes, transmission rates, and/or signal types.
