An ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium) is a new legal form introduced by the European Commission in June 2009 for providing a dedicated legal basis for new Pan-European Research Infrastructures. The conditions of an ERIC are ruled by a European Council Regulation [1]. This regulation shall aid the construction and operation of new ERIs in the ERA.
