Transforming Biodiversity Monitoring
with Artificial Intelligence
A German–Korean 🇩🇪🇰🇷 collaboration developing intelligent solutions for scalable biodiversity surveillance and conservation decision-making
€1.3M Budget | 5 Partners | 2 Countries 🇩🇪🇰🇷 | 2025–2029 | Target: ≥85% Accuracy
About the Project
AI-BioDynamics is a German–Korean research collaboration (2025–2029) developing an intelligent monitoring platform that transforms biodiversity surveillance through artificial intelligence. Funded by Germany’s BMBF and Korea’s MSIT with a budget of €1.3 million, the project brings together Fraunhofer FIT, Geo Engine GmbH, Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Kwangwoon University, and Moonsoft Co., Ltd. The platform integrates multi-resolution satellite imagery, radar data, and citizen science observations with advanced AI techniques including knowledge-guided deep learning, cross-ecosystem transfer learning, and process mining.
What We Do
The Challenge
Fragmented Monitoring, Global Crisis
Current biodiversity monitoring relies on fragmented data sources and labor-intensive methods that don’t scale across borders. By the time we understand ecosystem changes, it is often too late to act.
Our Solution
Intelligent, Integrated Platform
AI-BioDynamics combines satellite imagery, radar data, and citizen science observations with advanced AI techniques to deliver real-time, actionable biodiversity insights across ecosystems.
The Impact
From Data to Action
Our platform supports ESG compliance reporting, evidence-based conservation planning, and policy decisions—turning complex biodiversity data into clear pathways for action.
