LED is a technology which converts electricity into light, but unlike conventional methods no wire is being heated up, nor a gas is being illuminated. In fact this form of light production results in a much higher efficiency. High-intensity LED area lights have a considerable long (> 10-years) life span, an excellent visibility spectrum, and more than 50% lower energy use than conventional lights.
