Material of biological origin, excluding material embedded in geological formations or transformed to fossilized material and excluding peat. Note: this includes organic material (both living and dead) from above and below ground, e.g. trees, crops, grasses, tree litter, algae, and waste of biological origin, e.g. manure. Biomass sources can be counted as seen in: (1) Sewage, (2) Municipal Solid Waste, (3) Agricultural Crops & Residues, (4) Animal Residues, (5) Forestry Crops & Residues as well as (6) Industrial Residues (including the sewage off arriving ocean carriers)
