Backdoor

In Web3, a backdoor attack involves hackers gaining full control of a network or dApp, through hidden access points inserted into the system, bypassing regular authentication and granting the attacker complete authority. For instance a backdoor might be integrated into smart contract code, empowering the attacker to run any code they please, altering the blockchain's state at will. These covert entryways provide unauthorized access to systems or software, enabling persistent exploitation in Web3, potentially leading to theft of funds or data.
