SURE5.0 SELF-ASSESSMENT

This self-assessment tool has been developed in the framework of the SURE5.0 project, which aims to support European SMEs from the mobility, transport & automotive, aerospace and electronics European ecosystems to move towards the industry 5.0 concept, advancing in their digital transformation process while becoming more human-centric, sustainable and resilient.

What will you obtain out of this assessment?

The objective of this questionnaire is to evaluate where your company stands with regards to industry 5.0 and its potential for transformation. Once completed, you will receive standard recommendations that will guide you in your process for change.
Filling out this questionnaire is the first step to get involved in the project SURE5.0 and to benefit from our different activities, services and is mandatory to access the €2,6M for 5.0 projects.

1) Smart Factory
A smart factory is a digitized manufacturing facility that uses connected devices, machinery and production systems to continuously collect and share data, which is then used to make decisions to improve processes as well as address any issues that may arise. The smart manufacturing practices used by a smart factory are enabled by a variety of technologies including artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics, cloud computing, and the industrial Internet of things (IOT). Smart factories connect the digital and physical worlds to monitor an entire production process, from supply chain management to manufacturing tools and even the work of individual operators on the shop floor.
2) Strategy and Organization
Organizational strategies are long-term plans that decide how an organization plans to use its resources to support its business activities. Organizations use these strategies as a guidance to help them meet their goals and develop strategic plans. Organizational strategies often include detailed assessments outlining what needs to accomplished.
3) Environmental Sustainability
Environmentally sustainable manufacturing and production consist of strategies such as implementation of circular processes that reuse, repurpose, and recycle resources, efficient usage of energy, limiting emissions by improving processes and preventing and managing the waste generated in an Organization. All these strategies contribute towards improving the environmental outcome, thereby contributing towards the European sustainable development goals (SDGs) - 9 & 12.
4) Human-Centricity
Industry 5.0 transitions from a data-driven paradigm towards a more human-centric and society-centric approach where the wellbeing of the industrial worker and the satisfaction of the product consumer lay at the heart of the production process. Advanced industrial technologies are not only designed and programmed for efficiency and accuracy but also developed to enhance worker capabilities and foster creativity. Customers are given more importance than ever by offering mass customization of products at many levels of manufacturing to various extents and giving complete product traceability along the entire supply chain / product lifecycle.
5) Industrial Resilience
Resilience in industries is the third pillar of Industry 5.0 which calls for improved production processes and robust supply chains that are resistant to disruptions and can guarantee the provision of key infrastructure and support during times of crisis. Flexible and adaptable technologies, appropriate worker-skill sets, visibility and transparency throughout the supply chain and strategic readiness towards disruptions form the building blocks of resilient organizations.

Terms of usage and data protection

During the assessment, contact information of the organization and the person from the organization taking the assessment will be gathered purely for the purpose of contacting the organization to discuss further actions on implementing Industry 5.0 strategies as part of the SURE5.0 project. The contact information will be used only by the employees of Fraunhofer IPT who are responsible for carrying out the SURE5.0 project and will only be shared within the SURE5.0 consortium. The results of the assessment will be used for statistical purposes as part of this project.
