For the first time, we exhibited <a href=\"http:\/\/With 1,150 participants from over 60 countries, the first edition of the ESMO AI &amp; Digital Oncology meeting was an inspiring kick-off for knowledge sharing and building connections. From November 12-14 2025, we convened at the intersection of medicine and technology.  It was great to see that AI is already transforming oncology. We\u2019re moving beyond asking &quot;Why use AI?&quot; to &quot;Where can it add value?&quot; Real-world use cases demonstrate its ability to conduct quantitative analyses and identify patterns in images that humans can't do or only by investing a signifcant amount of time. The ability to segment cells, classify, and quantify them based on their marker expression, create interactive density heat maps, and even derive statistics on cellular neighborhoods and cell-cell interactions seemed to be exactly what many researchers were looking for. And they were stunned, when we showed them the small laptop that we brought to run MIKAIA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A close 2nd and 3rd place were the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/websites.fraunhofer.de\/smart-sensing-insights\/mikaia-ihc-cell-detection-app\/\">batch analysis of IHC-slides<\/a><\/strong> as well as the new <a href=\"https:\/\/websites.fraunhofer.de\/smart-sensing-insights\/mikaia-ai-authoring-app\/\"><strong>AI Authoring<\/strong> <strong>App<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>that lets biologists easily and interactively adapt an AI on their own data.
