Dr. Andreas Mues

Director of Engineering, Anschütz GmbH

Dr. Andreas Mues has been the Director of Engineering at Anschütz GmbH since 1st July 2012. He holds a doctorate in Physics and Oceanology from the Christian Albrechts University of Kiel, Germany.

Andreas Mues began his career in 1994 as a Sensor and System Engineer for Sonar Systems at AlliedSignal ELAC Nautik, transitioning to Program Management after three years. He led the Engineering Department from 2000 to 2011 following the acquisition of ELAC Nautik by L-3 Communications.

Since joining Anschütz, then Raytheon Anschütz, Andreas Mues has also taken on the role of Project Lead for the development of autonomous navigation systems, driving innovation and excellence in engineering solutions.

Dr. Jörg Kaufmann

Head of Maritime Shipping, BSH

Jörg Kaufmann is the Head of the Maritime Shipping Department of the BSH (The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency). After finishing school, he was active as a naval officer and on duty as watch officer as well as commanding officer, for more than twelve years. In 2003 he joined the German maritime casualties investigation bureau (BSU) and is became its director in 2005.

Since May 2012 Jörg Kaufmann is head of the Maritime Shipping and holds responsibilities in the areas of law of the flag, seafarer’s certification, support of the German maritime fleet, maritime security, environmental protection, sustainability in shipping, liability certification, and fleet statistics. Additionally, within his department he is in charge of establishing digital processes, market surveillance of marine equipment, and nautical-technical research, including aspects of autonomous shipping.

Lennart Swoboda

Head of Autonomy, Schulte Group

Lennart Swoboda is the Head of Autonomy at Bernhard Schulte GmbH & Co KG. He holds a diploma in Economics from studies in Hamburg, Germany, and Aarhus, Denmark. Since joining the Schulte Group in 2010, he has played a pivotal role in developing the group’s proprietary ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solution. Other activities cover controlling, structured shipping investments, or M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions)

Since 2017, the Schulte Group has seen a consistent increase in innovative projects. As Head of Autonomy since 2021, Lennart Swoboda coordinates various initiatives focused on vessel autonomy and digitalisation. His work aims to enhance navigation safety and operational efficiency by equipping ships and crews with appropriate tools and integrating them with relevant shore functions.
