I want to be flexible and arrive by car. Can I park my car at the venue?
The parking lot at CML offers space for employees and logistics, e.g. catering. We do not offer car parking for participants of ICMASS-ISSS. We would like to encourage everyone to use public transport to arrive at the venue. If you insist on using your car, there is a parking area near by: Veritaskai 2, 21079 Hamburg, Germany
Please note that the conference will officially end at Landungsbrücken in the city centre.
How can I arrive by public transport?
The closest station that offers local train connection is ‘Harburg Rathaus’ where the trains S3 and S5 operate. It is a ten minute walk from there to the venue.
Train station ‘Harburg’ also offers regional and long-distance train connection.
Bus stations close by are ‘Blohmstraße’, ‘Harburger Schloßstraße’ or ‘Kanalplatz’. Check out https://www.hvv.de/en for your personal connection.
I have not yet booked a hotel. Any recommendations?
We do not have recommendations for a specific hotel. There only very few hotels close to Fraunhofer CML but plenty of hotels in the downtown are, you may wanna ask Google Maps about that. As the organiser we’re confident that you will find something that is a good fit for you.
I need to get back to the hotel down town after the Conference Dinner. How long is the public transport operating?
You can take the S3 or S5 city train (S Bahn) from ‘Harburg Rathaus’ or the local train from ‘Harburg’ to Hamburg city centre. The last city train leaves at around midnight. Check your personal connection: HVV or DB.

What are the opening hours of the conference venue?
Day 1: The ship MS Princess is accessible from 8:30 to 22:00. The building is accessible from 10:30 to 19:00. After 19:00 we ask everybody to stay outside the building. It is possible to get coats or luggage from the building till 22:00.
Day 2: The ship MS Princess and the building both are accessible from 8:30 to 15:30. At 16:00 the MS Princess will leave the quay and take everyone to Landungsbrücken, city centre. Please note that you cannot leave the cruising ship between 16:00 and 18:00
My personal belongings are still inside the building but the building is closed. How can I get them back?
Don’t worry. Find someone from the CML staff. They will help you to get inside the building when the doors are already locked.
Can I move around anywhere in the building?
Please stay on the floors reserved for the conference. You have access to the ground floor, the first floor, the third floor and the fourth floor. All other areas and floors are not included in the conference venue and you have no access here. Signs on the doors further indicate where only CML staff has access.
I would like to see one of the labs. How can participate in a lab tour?
To make the lab tour a nice experience and give everyone the chance to actually see and hear something, we organised time slots for every lab. Every tour in each lab is offered up to three times. Find your voucher in the registration area and pick your time slot.
