==ASE-Definition (dt.)==
Die Regressionsanalyse ist auf Grund ihrer Flexibilität das verbreitetste und wichtigste statische Analyseverfahren. Will man die Beziehung von metrisch skalierten abhängigen Variablen und metrisch skalierten unabhängigen Variablen (oder nur einer) analysieren ist die Regressionsanalyse die gängige Methode. Des Weiteren bietet sie die Möglichkeiten der quantitativen Beschreibung und kann Werte schätzen bzw. prognostizieren.

Regression analysis is the most common and important static analysis method due to its flexibility. If one wants to analyze the relationship of metrically scaled dependent variables and metrically scaled independent variables (or only one), the regression analysis is the common method. Furthermore, it offers the possibilities of quantitative description and can estimate or predict values.
