==ASE-Definition (dt.)==

==ASE-Definition (engl.)==
Channel and support structures (CSS) are design-relevant volumes of bodies, liquids, gases, or field-permeated spaces that connect exactly two [[Wirkflächenpaar|working surface pairs]] and enable conduction of substance, energy, material, or information between the working surface pairs of a body, liquid, gas, or field. An CSS may span systems or subsystems depending on the level of detail of the modeling. CSS exist together with their associated working surface pairs exclusively in the period of function fulfillment.
