ASE-Definition (dt.)

ASE-Definition (engl.)
Embodiment variation (EV) is in PGE the activity of developing individual functional units newly by maintaining the solution principle of reference products but redesigning or adjusting the embodiment. EV represents the most frequent activity of product development and a highly creative and complex process.
In the analysis of exemplary systems in the course of case studies EV is reflected by structures and working surface pairs which persist in number and arrangement but change in embodiment, e.g., but not exclusively geometry.

Within a new product generation the set of subsystems which are developed newly by EV is denoted by "ES".
