Vor 175 Jahren schrieb ich den ersten Algorithmus und legte damit den Grundstein f\u00fcr eine Zukunft, die ich mir nur ertr\u00e4umen konnte. Das Jubil\u00e4um des <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scs.fraunhofer.de\/de\/referenzen\/ada-center.html\">ADA Lovelace Centers<\/a> am 2. Dezember 2024 in N\u00fcrnberg zeigt, wie weit wir gekommen sind. Meine Vision von der Verbindung unterschiedlicher Wissenschaften wie Mathematik, Informatik und Ingenieurwesen mit Kreativit\u00e4t und Praxis ist im ADA Lovelace Center lebendig geworden. Es verk\u00f6rpert genau diese Synergie, indem es Forschung und praktische Anwendungen in der KI zusammenf\u00fchrt und so neue Horizonte f\u00fcr die Technologie von morgen erschlie\u00dft. Lassen Sie uns gemeinsam einen Blick auf das Event und die aufregende Zukunft werfen, die ich einst erahnte.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Ein Meilenstein des ADA Lovelace Center<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Das ADA Lovelace Center feierte am 2.12.2024 in N\u00fcrnberg seinen sechsten Geburtstag in N\u00fcrnberg. Das spannende und inspirierende Event begeisterte Wissenschaftler*innen und G\u00e4ste gleicherma\u00dfen. Im Mittelpunkt stand die Diskussion \u00fcber die Zukunft der K\u00fcnstlichen Intelligenz (KI) und die Br\u00fccke zwischen Forschung und Anwendung.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Start mit Fakten, Zahlen und \u00fcberzeugenden Keynotes<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Prof. Dr. Alexander Martin, Leiter des ADA Lovelace Center und Institutsleiter des Fraunhofer IIS er\u00f6ffnete die Veranstaltung. Er gab sowohl einen Einblick in den Aufbau des Projektes und zeigte anhand von einigen Zahlen und Fakten die Ergebnisse auf: \u00dcber 100 Expertinnen und Experten haben \u00fcber 150 peer-reviewed Paper ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Zudem wurden \u00fcber 130 Vortr\u00e4ge gehalten, mehr als 80 Abschlussarbeiten verfasst, und 12 Promotionen erm\u00f6glicht.<\/p>\n<p>Das Gru\u00dfwort von MR Dr. Stefan Wimbauer zeigte seine Verbundenheit und Begeisterung f\u00fcr das Projekt, das er von Anfang an begleitete.<\/p>\n<p>Es folgte eine spannende Keynote von Prof. Dr. Yuki Asano, der das Fundamental AI Lab (FunAI Lab) an der Technischen Universit\u00e4t N\u00fcrnberg leitet. Er verdeutlichte die Herausforderungen, denen sich LLMs stellen m\u00fcssen, wenn sie genaue Vorhersagen treffen wollen, und erinnerte uns daran, wie wichtig Klarheit und Pr\u00e4zision bei der KI Paneldiskussion mit Vertretern aller Projektpartner Fraunhofer IIS, Fraunhofer IISB, Fraunhofer IKS, FAU Erlangen-N\u00fcrnberg und LMU M\u00fcnchen wurde schnell klar, dass besonders die Struktur und die Zusammenarbeit zum Erfolg des ADA Lovelace Center beigetragen haben. Durch ihre pr\u00e4gnante und dynamische Pr\u00e4sentationsform wurden die Erfolge der letzten Jahre im Projekt beeindruckend und unterhaltsam vorgestellt. Einige der beeindruckenden Projekte, die vorgestellt wurden, sind <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scs.fraunhofer.de\/de\/referenzen\/ada-center\/robuste-ki-medizin.html\">robuste und adaptierbare Verfahren zur Gewebeanalyse in histologischen Schnitten<\/a>, KI im intelligenten Einkaufswagen und <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scs.fraunhofer.de\/de\/referenzen\/ada-center\/fahrerasssistenzsysteme-schienenverkehr.html\">mathematische Optimierung f\u00fcr energieeffiziente Fahrpl\u00e4ne<\/a>. Desweiteren zeigten die Vortr\u00e4ge wie eine gezielte Zusammenarbeit zwischen Forschung und Industrie wichtige KI-Forschungsbereiche weiterbringen kann, wie die wissenschaftliche Verwertung und Nachwuchsf\u00f6rderung im Projekt gelang und sogar neue Kompetenzfelder wie <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scs.fraunhofer.de\/de\/referenzen\/ada-center\/human-ai.html\">Human AI<\/a>, Edge AI und Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINN) und ganze Organisationseinheiten wie die Gruppe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scs.fraunhofer.de\/de\/ueber-uns\/organisation\/analytics\/data-efficient-automated-learning.html\">Data Efficient Automated Learning<\/a> des Fraunhofer IIS in M\u00fcnchen entstanden sind.<\/p>\n<h3>Minute Madness: Vorstellung der Kompetenzs\u00e4ulen<\/h3>\n<p>Im Rahmen der Minute Madness wurden die Kompetenzs\u00e4ulen des ADA Lovelace Center vorgestellt. Diese kurze, aber informative Pr\u00e4sentation diente als Einf\u00fchrung f\u00fcr das anschlie\u00dfende \u00bbMeet the Team\u00ab. Hier hatten die Teilnehmer die Gelegenheit direkt mit den Expertinnen und Experten der Kompetenzs\u00e4ulen in der Ausstellung im Showroom in Kontakt zu treten und sich auszutauschen. Der Fokus lag dabei auf der Interaktion und dem pers\u00f6nlichen Gespr\u00e4ch, um die verschiedenen Kompetenzsbereiche und deren Bedeutung f\u00fcr die KI-Forschung und -Anwendung besser zu The exciting and inspiring event delighted scientists and guests alike. The focus was on discussing the future of artificial intelligence (AI) and the bridge between research and application.<\/p>\n<h3>Start with facts, figures and convincing keynotes<\/h3>\n<p>Prof. Dr. Alexander Martin, Director of the ADA Lovelace Center and Institute Director of Fraunhofer IIS, opened the event. He gave an insight into the structure of the project and illustrated the results with some facts and figures: Over 100 experts have published over 150 peer-reviewed papers. Their concise and dynamic form of presentation made the project&#8217;s successes of recent years impressive and entertaining. Some of the impressive projects presented were robust and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scs.fraunhofer.de\/en\/focus-projects\/ada-center\/robust-ai-for-digital-pathology.html\">adaptable methods for tissue analysis in histological sections<\/a>, AI in intelligent shopping carts and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scs.fraunhofer.de\/en\/focus-projects\/ada-center\/ai-transport-mobility.html\">mathematical optimization for energy-efficient timetables.<\/a> Furthermore, the presentations showed how targeted collaboration between research and industry can advance important AI research areas, how scientific exploitation and the promotion of young talent in the project succeeded and even new fields of expertise such as Human AI, Edge AI and Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINN) and entire organizational units such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scs.fraunhofer.de\/en\/about-us\/organization\/analytics\/data-efficient-automated-learning.html\">Data Efficient Automated Learning<\/a> group at Fraunhofer IIS in Munich have emerged.<\/p>\n<h3>Minute Madness: Presentation of the competence pillars<\/h3>\n<p>The competence pillars of the ADA Lovelace Center were presented as part of Minute Madness. This short but informative presentation served as an introduction for the subsequent &#8220;Meet the Team&#8221;. Here, the participants had the opportunity to get in direct contact with the experts of the competence pillars in the exhibition in the showroom and to exchange ideas. successes, but also an outlook on future developments in the field of AI. It underlined the importance of cooperation and innovation. A highlight of the day was certainly the panel discussion with renowned experts such as Dr. Christopher Mutschler (Fraunhofer IIS), Dr. Thomas Wittenberg (Fraunhofer IIS), Prof. Dr. Bernd Bischl (LMU), Dr. Ann Bixby (Aspen Technology) and Dr. Claudia Armbr\u00fcster (Wanzl GmbH). They discussed how the ADA Lovelace Center uses AI as an enabler and the various ways in which AI is integrated into everyday life and industry. The exchange between research and industry and the mutual insights were particularly interesting &#8211; not only for the audience, but also for the participants themselves.
