Franz\u00f6sische Industriepartner im Gespr\u00e4ch mit Fraunhofer-Wissenschaftlern<\/strong><\/p>\n

Also als ich \u2013 Ada Lovelace \u2013 lebte, hat es ja Online-Meetings und hybride Veranstaltungen sowieso nicht gegeben, geschweige denn das Telefon, daher kann ich mir einen wissenschaftlichen Austausch ohne physische Pr\u00e4senz gar nicht vorstellen. Und auch wenn es den Anschein macht, dass dies zu der heutigen Zeit sehr gut funktioniert, freue ich mich mit meinen Kolleginnen und Kollegen des ADA Lovelace Center, dass wir unsere T\u00fcren wieder \u00f6ffnen und G\u00e4ste \u2013 diesmal sogar internationale \u2013 bei uns begr\u00fc\u00dfen konnten.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Der Besuch der franz\u00f6sischen Firmenvertreter am Fraunhofer Institut f\u00fcr integrierte Schaltungen (IIS) zum Austausch mit Experten und Expertinnen des ADA Lovelace Center konnte nun bei sommerlichen Temperaturen nachgeholt werden. Die Delegationsreise, organisiert von Business France<\/a> und BP France<\/a> war bereits f\u00fcr Herbst 2021 geplant, musste aufgrund der Corona-Pandemie allerdings kurzfristig abgesagt werden. Bpifrance f\u00f6rdert Unternehmensinvestitionen und bietet ein umfassendes Angebot an Produkten und Dienstleistungen f\u00fcr die Finanzierung und Begleitung von KMUs, Midcaps und Gro\u00dfunternehmen, haupts\u00e4chlich in Form von Darlehen, Garantien und Eigenkapital.<\/p>\n

Im Fokus des Besuchs stand der praxisnahe und intensive Austausch zwischen Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft zu Technologien und Kompetenzen des Fraunhofer IIS. Dazu konnten die Firmenvertreter in Einzelgespr\u00e4chen ihre Fragen und Herausforderungen in den Bereichen Vorausschauende Wartung und Bedarfsprognosen<\/a> sowie Entscheidungsunterst\u00fctzung mittels Mathematischer Optimierung<\/a> und Maschinellem Lernen f\u00fcr die vorausschauende Prozess\u00fcberwachung, Qualit\u00e4tssicherung und -verbesserung in Produktion und Logistik<\/a> stellen und besprechen. Zudem hatten sie die M\u00f6glichkeit sich \u00fcber die drahtlose LPWAN Technologie mioty\u00ae<\/a> auszutauschen.<\/p>\n

Die Gespr\u00e4che fanden im Test- und Anwendungszentrum L.I.N.K.<\/a> des Fraunhofer IIS im Nordostpark statt \u2013 eine Testumgebung, in der u.a. Cyberphysische Systeme, technologiegest\u00fctzte Prozesse, Industrie 4.0-Anwendungen unter realen Bedingungen getestet und evaluiert werden.\u00a0Die Fraunhofer-Expertin Dr. Paulina Sierak<\/a> beschreibt den Austausch mit den franz\u00f6sischen Firmen als sehr bereichernd, da sie und ihre Kollegen weitere Einblicke in die realen Anwendungsf\u00e4lle f\u00fcr KI erhalten konnten: \u00bbDas Spannende dabei war, die Herausforderungen zu erfahren, mit denen die Unternehmen konkret konfrontiert sind. Das gibt uns f\u00fcr unsere Forschung noch mehr Impulse aus der Praxis.\u00ab<\/p>\n

Auch die anderen Experten nehmen neue Erkenntnisse mit, so zieht z. B. Benedikt Sonnleitner<\/a> folgendes Fazit: \u00bbMich hat vor allem die Begeisterung der franz\u00f6sischen Unternehmer inspiriert, mit der sie L\u00f6sungen f\u00fcr datengetriebene Entscheidungsunterst\u00fctzungssysteme implementieren.\u00ab<\/p>\n

Diese Begeisterung spiegelt sich auch in dem Zitat von Gr\u00e9goire de Langautier, Industry 4.0 Development Manager bei MGA Technologies wider: \u00bbDer Besuch beim Fraunhofer IIS war einer der H\u00f6hepunkte unseres Treffens mit dem deutschen industriellen \u00d6kosystem. Im Rahmen seiner Innovationsprojekte sind Daten ein zentrales Thema f\u00fcr MGA Technologies. Der Austausch mit den Experten des ADA Lovelace Center hat es mir erm\u00f6glicht, neue Anwendungen und Verwertung von Daten zu entdecken. Ich hoffe, dass diese Begegnungen zu neuen Synergien zwischen Frankreich und Deutschland f\u00fchren werden. Vielen Dank noch einmal f\u00fcr diesen bereichernden Austausch!\u00ab<\/p>\n

International exchange<\/strong><\/p>\n

French industrial partners in discussion with Fraunhofer scientists<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well, when I – Ada Lovelace – was alive, online meetings and hybrid events didn’t exist anyway, not to mention the telephone, so I can’t imagine scientific exchange without physical presence. And even if it seems that this works perfectly well in today’s world, my colleagues at the ADA Lovelace Center and I are happy that we could open our doors again to welcome our guests – this time even international ones.<\/p>\n

The visit of the French representatives to the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS for an exchange with experts from the ADA Lovelace Center could now be held in summer temperatures. The delegation trip, organized by Business France and Bpifrance, was already planned for autumn 2021, but had to be cancelled at short notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bpifrance promotes business investments and offers a comprehensive range of products and services for financing and accompanying SMEs, midcaps and large companies, mainly in the form of loans, guarantees and equity.<\/p>\n

The focus of the visit was the practical and intensive exchange between science and business on Industry 4.0 applications and technologies as well as competences around artificial intelligence. To this end, the company representatives were able to ask and discuss their questions and challenges in the areas of predictive maintenance and demand forecasting as well as decision support using mathematical optimization and machine learning for predictive process monitoring, quality assurance and improvement in production and logistics in one-on-one meetings. They also had the opportunity to exchange ideas about the mioty\u00ae wireless LPWAN technology<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The talks took place at the L.I.N.K. Test and Application Center of Fraunhofer IIS<\/a> in Nordostpark – a test environment where cyber-physical systems, technology-enabled processes, Industry 4.0 applications, among others, are tested and evaluated under real conditions.<\/p>\n

Fraunhofer expert Dr. Paulina Sierak describes the exchange with the French companies as very enriching, as she and her colleagues were able to gain further insights into real-life use cases for AI: “It was exciting to learn about the challenges that the companies face in concrete terms. This gives us even more impetus from practical experience for our research.\u201d<\/p>\n

The other experts also take away new insights, for example Benedikt Sonnleitner draws the following conclusion: “I was particularly inspired by the enthusiasm of the French entrepreneurs with which they implement solutions for data-driven decision support systems.”<\/p>\n

This enthusiasm is also reflected in the quote from Gr\u00e9goire de Langautier, Industry 4.0 Development Manager at MGA Technologies: “The visit to Fraunhofer IIS was one of the highlights of our meeting with the German industrial ecosystem. In the context of its innovation projects, data is a central topic for MGA Technologies. The exchange with the experts of the ADA Lovelace Center allowed me to discover new applications and exploitation of data. I hope that these meetings will lead to new synergies between France and Germany. Thank you once again for this enriching exchange!”<\/p>\n

This meeting will hopefully pave the way for future collaborations, as there are some topics where we could certainly work on together, as artificial intelligence and data analytics are at the heart of our business areas.”<\/p>\n
