European Definitions

CLIMATE-ADAPT

Maladaptation means any changes in natural or human systems that inadvertently increase vulnerability to climatic stimuli; an adaptation that does not succeed in reducing vulnerability but increases it instead (from IPCC). [1]




RESIN project

The RESIN project [2] gives the following definition:

Actions that may lead to increased risk of adverse climate-related outcomes, increased vulnerability to climate change, or diminished welfare, now or in the future. [3]
