The CIPRNet project [1] uses the following definition:
A federate is single simulation model that interoperates with other simulations in a federation. (source: [Rathnam2004]) b) In the DIESIS context, a federate also refers to the aggregate of a simulator and its specific.
DIESIS project
The DIESIS project [2] gives the following definition:
- "A single simulation model that interoperates with other simulations in a federation" [3].
- In the DIESIS context, a federate also refers to the aggregate of a simulator and its specific enhancements, e.g., certain interfaces or middleware.
