An ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium) is a new legal form introduced by the EC in June 2009 for providing a dedicated legal basis for new Pan-European Research Infrastructures. The conditions of an ERIC are ruled by a European Council Regulation <ref name="EU2009"> European Commission, COUNCIL REGULATION on the Community legal framework for a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC), st 10603/09, Brussels, June 22, 2009</ref>. An ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium) is a new legal form introduced by the EC in June 2009 for providing a dedicated legal basis for new Pan-European Research Infrastructures. The conditions of an ERIC are ruled by a European Council Regulation [1]. This regulation shall aid the construction and operation of new ERIs in the ERA.
