Dependability: The study of a system’s failures and faults in order to ensure its ability to accomplish its functions, under defined conditions and for a given period of time. In particular, dependability addresses the properties of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS). In this context, dependability concerns people and assets. Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) is a methodology frequently used in this domain. [3]
