European Project Definitions

CIPRNet project

The CIPRNet project [1] uses the following definition:

Connections describe links between different components in a CI Model. E.g. a generator can be linked to a transmission line. Connections may be realised as attributes but should be handled differently in the GUI due to their importance for network modelling.

DIESIS project

The DIESIS project [2] gives the following definition:

Connections describe links between different components in a CI Model. E.g. a generator can be linked to a transmission line. Connections may be realised as attributes but should be handled differently in the GUI due to their importance for network modelling.

National Definitions

Egypt

Connection: A provision for a signal to propagate from one point to another, such as from one circuit, line, subassembly, or component to another. [3]

Connection: An association established between functional units for conveying information. [3]
