Definitions

European Definitions

RESIN project

The RESIN project [1] gives the following definition:

A climate projection is the simulated response of the climate system to a scenario of future emission or concentration of greenhouse gases and aerosols, generally derived using climate models.[2]

Other International Definitions

UNISDR/IPCC

Climate projection is the calculated response of the climate system to emissions or concentration scenarios of greenhouse gases and aerosols, or radiative forcing scenarios, often based on simulations by climate models. [3]

National Definitions

Denmark

Germany

Climate projections attempt to forecast how the climate will change in response to emissions of varying quantities and types of greenhouse gas. [5]

Rwanda

Climate projection A projection of the response of the climate system to emissions or concentration scenarios of greenhouse gases and aerosols, or radiative forcing scenarios, often based upon simulations by climate models. [6]

Spain

United States

AMS
Climate (change) prediction: The prediction of various aspects of the climate of a region during some future period of time. [8]
